Medicinal Mindfulness is excited to provide these safe and sacred altered states events and private group services. Because our primary mission is to make experiences like these as affordable, safe and accessible as possible, Medicinal Mindfulness sponsors monthly community practices such as Community Breathwork, Cannabis Healing Meditations and Conscious Cannabis Circles. These are opportunities for our local community members to participate in, or sit for regular, intentional, psycho-spiritual group journey experiences.
Private Conscious Cannabis Events and Community Breathwork sessions we facilitate are perfect for groups of friends, Colorado visitors, dispensary owners, corporate executives, retreat organizers and retreat centers.

Cannabis Wellness Retreats
Medicinal Mindfulness supports individuals who use psychedelics and cannabis who are interested in cultivating more depth, safety and meaning in their personal use practices. The primary purpose of our program is to reduce harm and to help people stay as safe as possible.
Our programs also provide very clear evidence of the possibility that entheogenic medicines, including cannabis, when used sparingly and in the right container, can help cultivate physical, mental, psychological and spiritual wellbeing... cultivating our truest selves while clearing blocks to healing and potential. From these deep spaces, new ideas and innovations can emerge that are soul and world transforming. This isn’t easy to do, nor a guaranteed outcome, and we are discovering that there is an entire set of advanced journeywork skills required to participate in the deepest areas of this work effectively.
+ FAQ's. . .
Please review the information provided on this page if you have any questions regarding our services. We acknowledge the cultural edges we are exploring so it is important to note that a foundational intention of our program is to be skillful in our work and respectful of all our community stakeholders. Our work is not for everyone, and we are conditional advocates for intentional, sacred and non-habitual cannabis use and psychedelics in legal settings. A substantial amount of skill development, the right mind set, and a supportive setting are all required to safely and sustainably explore the use of powerful entheogenic medicines.
As a Harm Reduction program at its foundation, the information, individual services, training programs, and events of Medicinal Mindfulness are designed to address the full spectrum of complex experiences associated with psychedelic medicine and cannabis use. Some behaviors and decisions are inherently risky, especially transformation and awakening. We require that everyone we work with takes full responsibility for all outcomes of their journey as part of their experience with us. It has been our experience that this degree of personal responsibly is a required preliminary mind set for individuals to stay as safe as possible on their journey.

Below are a few of the more common questions we get asked as well as some online resources that specifically discuss the legality of private cannabis consumption in Colorado.
+ What is Harm Reduction?
Medicinal Mindfulness is a "Harm Reduction" drug education and support program, specifically for psychedelic medicine and cannabis users. We believe objective education and nonjudgmental support services are the most effective strategies in working with these communities. According to the Harm Reduction Coalition:
Harm reduction is a set of practical strategies and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with drug use. Harm Reduction is also a movement for social justice built on a belief in, and respect for, the rights of people who use drugs.
Harm reduction incorporates a spectrum of strategies from safer use, to managed use to abstinence to meet drug users “where they’re at,” addressing conditions of use along with the use itself. Because harm reduction demands that interventions and policies designed to serve drug users reflect specific individual and community needs, there is no universal definition of or formula for implementing harm reduction.
+ What is the legality of the services Medicinal Mindfulness provides where cannabis is consumed?
The use of cannabis is an optional, but integral, component of our Conscious Cannabis Journeys and Conscious Cannabis Circles. Participants are required to bring their own cannabis to these sessions. Only 1 gram is recommended, which is far less than the legal one ounce limit for Colorado residents, and 7 grams for Colorado visitors, for private consumption. Participants must be 21 years old or older to attend these events. A valid ID is required to determine age. These services and events do not include the sale of cannabis or cannabis products. Cannabis is not a business expense and there are no financial transactions related to this medicine in any way. We are a coaching, group facilitation, education and harm reduction program and therefore technically not a marijuana-related business as defined by local ordinances like a dispensary would be.
Sessions and events where cannabis is consumed are private, invitation only, and intended to comply with all applicable Colorado laws. Participants understand that the purchase and/or consumption of cannabis is still prohibited by Federal Law and participants assume all risks associated with their use. Participants also understand that the Colorado Supreme Court recently ruled that employers have the right to fire employees for cannabis use, even if used responsibly and off hours, and participants assume all risks associated with this as well.
According to the Colorado NORML publication, The Responsible Consumer’s Guide to Marijuana in Colorado, “Private vs. Public: The Colorado constitution, protects private marijuana use, so you can consume openly at a residence or outdoors on a porch or balcony as long as the property owner allows it. Marijuana cannot be consumed openly and publicly, such as on streets and sidewalks, or in public parks. Localities may have their own regulations on where you can consume, so you should check local laws first.”
Our program requires that all sessions and events where cannabis is consumed are invitation only, private events that are held in private locations with the permission of the owner of the property, in compliance with any local ordinances, as well as in compliance with the Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act. Fireside meditations also comply with all local fire regulations and are only held on private land with the permission of the property owner.

+ Is this confidential?
Medicinal Mindfulness adheres to strict confidentiality requirements in our work with our clients, and all information provided to us, written and verbal, as well as your identity will remain confidential, except when exclusions are required by law, such as if there is intent to hurt oneself or another. While we require that all participants agree to keep confidential the experience and identity of other participants, due to the community nature of some of our events, we cannot make any guarantees of confidentiality. Participants are required to accept all consequences of their participation in our programs, and this includes the consequences of getting "outed." Participants who have strong confidentiality requirements are encouraged to do individual sessions or sponsor a group with only trusted friends and allies. Credit card statements will say “Medicinal Mindfulness LLC” on all services except the donations and payments for the Native American Church service, which will then be “Nacaya Services LLC.”
+ Where are the sessions held?
Sessions where cannabis is consumed by a client are only available in the client’s home or in rented locations that allow private cannabis use. Sessions where cannabis is consumed are NOT facilitated in the Medicinal Mindfulness office. Participants are not allowed to drive after their experience until the following day. A shuttle/taxi service or registered designated driver is required to fully participate in these experiences. Personal spaces, homes and rentals must be pre-approved, private (evocative music can be loud at times), clean and comfortable. Fireside sessions must be on private land and comply with all applicable fire regulations.
+ Please note. . .
We do not encourage any illegal activities or the use or abuse of cannabis or any other medicine. Nor do we believe that cannabis or other medicine exploration, even within the confines of applicable laws, is appropriate or beneficial for everyone. We are conditional advocates for intentional, sacred and non-habitual cannabis use for those individuals who have chosen to use cannabis already on their own. A substantial amount of skill development, the right mind set, and an intentional setting are required to minimize the risks involved in the exploration of powerful medicines. Our work is, at its foundation, a Harm Reduction program.
